Out with the old and in with the new...

Yesterday was a very special day for me. It's the day I was finally able to shed the 2nd to last parting gift from my previous life (aka my last marriage). I am no longer driving the 2007 Mazda CX7 (that I never wanted to buy to begin with). Yesterday morning Jason and I took that POS to Autonation Subaru in the valley and traded that fucker in for a 2017 Ford Escape (which is the make/model of car I wanted to buy 10 years ago).

Now I'm not saying the Mazda wasn't an okay car in its own right, but I was never in love with it. It was the car that DEH (dummy ex-husband) wanted, and we paid a whole lot of money for a car that had so many part recalls I've lost count. And it's what DEH grudgingly let me keep when we parted ways, because I needed to be able to transport our children.

I'm so happy that the Mazda is now part of the past, and I am SO happy about (and completely in love with) my Escape, which is lovingly called The Great Pumpkin.

Life Moves, Live Well

Wait a minute, isn't that from a commercial? Well, whatever, it's as catchy as it is true.

Once again it's been WAY too long since I've posted in here, but at least this time I've got a good excuse - life has been BUSY AS FUCK the last two months!!

When last we checked in with out hero's (that would be yours truly and her loving husband Jason) they were in the process of selling one house and preparing to move into another. Well we can tick those boxes off because we are sold, moved, unpacked and completely settled into our new home.
Moving day was Friday February 23rd, and my loving husband had to handle the entire process by himself because I had to work that day and couldn't get out of it. He did an amazing job thanks to the help from a few AMAZING folks from the Fellowship, and when I left work that Friday afternoon I was able to go to my new home instead of my old home. At that point I was able to do what Micah's do best, which was to unpack and get us settled into our new domicile. A HUGE shout-out goes to my parents, who came over the morning after the move and spent several hours helping us unbox things and/or assemble furniture.

I will tell you, with no small amount of pride, that I did a fucking SPECTACULAR job of getting everything unpacked and put away. I know that may come across as conceited, but it's true. Exactly one week after moving all of our belongings from one house and into another, I was breaking down the very last of the boxes after finding a place for everything and getting everything put in its place.

So that's the biggest news - we are moved, and we are absolutely loving our new home! I mean look at this place - what's not to love?





Change is in the wind...

So Jason and I have been talking for quite a while now about looking for a new home. Our house here in Airway Heights is fine and lovely, but we need something bigger. Neither one of us is married to this location, so we've been looking at houses in the north Spokane(ish) area. We are also looking for something that is multi-level. It's nice to be able to send your children to a different floor of the house when they are underfoot and you are so tired and cranky that if the 7 year old asks you one more time if you're doing the dishes while WATCHING you do the dishes you're going to snap.

All of that being said, we have decided to make a move on this dream. We've met with a real estate agency, and as of Monday Jan 15th our house will officially be on the market for sale. This is big and scary and exciting, and I will be sure to keep all interested parties abreast of any and all new developments.

New Year's Resolution

Today is the first day of 2018. As I sit here reading back through my posts for the previous year, can I just say... WHAT THE HELL??
5 posts - that's it?!?! An entire YEAR has come and gone and I could only find time to put 5 stupid updates on this blog?! That is absolutely ridiculous, and that changes NOW.

I may not be the most fantastically interesting person in the world, but I have a lot of thoughts and feeling and emotions rattling around in my head (that's that lump 3 feet above my ass, for those wanting an A League of Their Own reference to start off the new year). And maybe there's not one single person on the planet that actually cares about me or my life or what's going on with me, but this blog cares. And do you know WHY it cares? Because it's MY blog and I say it does! MWAHAHAHA! (Sorry, I just had to get out that little bit of evil overlord just now.) And I owe it to this blog, and myself, to be more open and honest and communicative from now on. So it starts now.

Hello 2018, my name is Micah Sybouts - Mrs. Micah Sybouts, thank you very much. 2017 did bring me a husband, after all. It's (probably) very nice to meet you. I hope you enjoy your stay for the next 364 days, and I very much hope that we can be friends.

Tis the Season

It's that time of year again... Ornament-laden trees, garland, tinsel, Christmas lights, fancy cookies... It's Christmas time!

This has always been my favorite time of year. I love the lights, the decorations, the spirit. And yes, I'm still a big kid inside and I love getting presents!

This year I'm experiencing an extra big helping of Christmas Spirit. I am so freaking excited for Christmas!! We are going to have a full house this year; Jason's sister is coming up from Las Vegas (with husband and toddler in tow), and his parents are coming over from Yakima. My sister-in-law and her family will be staying with us, and the parents will be 2 minutes away at Quest Resort. MY parents will be joining us for Christmas dinner, and M1 and M2 will be here through Christmas morning.
This will be the first time the girls get to meet their new aunt, uncle, and cousin, and they couldn't be more excited.

The girls and I put up the decorations the weekend after Thanksgiving, and looking at the twinkling lights every night makes me so happy.

Thus It Begins...

So Friday brought the first snow of the 2017 winter season, and can I just say YUCK!!

I get that snow is simply a matter of fact when you live in this area. I really do. But did it have to start SO damn early this time around??

I know there is no point whatsoever in bitching about something that is completely and utterly out of my control, but that doesn't mean bitching doesn't make me feel just a tiny bit better, because it does.

I GOT A DOG!!!!!!

So I have wanted a dog all my own for my entire adult life. Something that I picked out and raised from a puppy. Some 4-legged canine that I could be there for and love and take care of for its entire life. I've been bringing this up to Jason for months and he's repeatedly shot me down for several valid, logical reasons. But last month something changed and he gave in and took me to get a puppy!!!

His name is Bosco, and he's about 4 months old now...

He is a purebred beagle, and he is the 4-legged love of my life. He is SO CUTE and SO SWEET and SO PLAYFUL and I am SO FREAKING HAPPY!!!

He is also my new snuggle buddy...

And did I mention how much better my naps are these days?

This little love bug is my baby boy, and I look forward to so many happy years of walks, playtime, puppy kisses and companionship.
Oh, and did I mention the fact that he thinks he's a shoulder dog??
